2009 Project Summary
Partners in Solidarity has received a grant from the Eugene Emerald Valley Rotary Club to ship 300 refurbished computers to schools, libraries, and NGOs in the department of Quetzaltenango. The computers are being loaded with educational software in three different languages-Spanish, English, and K’iche (the predominant Mayan language of the region).
In addition, we will be shipping support hardware to maintain and repair the hundreds of computers that we have placed in rural computer labs since 2003.
This next shipment will raise the number of Partnters in Solidarity placed computers to over 1000.
